Val Thorens lies at 2300m and is therefore not only the highest ski resort in the world-famous Trois Vallées ski area but also in the whole of Europe. This altitude ensures that Val Thorens can count on snow from November to May. With more than 600km of pistes, Trois Vallées is the largest continuous ski area in the world, interconnecting the ski resorts of Val Thorens, Courchevel, Méribel and Les Menuires.

You will find English-speaking ski instructors in almost every ski school in Val Thorens, as the ski resort is very popular with the British. Due to the size of the area, it’s especially advisable for beginners to explore the resort with a private ski instructor. 50 out of 90 slopes are suitable for your first skiing experience, which means that up to 85km of slopes can be covered by novices. With the help of an experienced private ski instructor, you can enjoy skiing on more than half of the slopes in the resort.

CheckYeti Tip: One of the benefits of private lessons is that up to 6 people can share 1 private ski lesson, which means you can bring your friends or family and share the cost. Make sure all group members are on the same skill level to get the most out of your lesson.
