Ski lessons<\/strong> with a limited number of participants<\/strong> and regular tests <\/strong>for ski instructors and hotel staff are just some of the measures taken by the Austrian government to prevent the spread of Covid-19 <\/strong>during the 2020 ski season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Those who decide to take advantage of this ski season will find many advantages: less crowded slopes<\/strong>, smaller groups<\/strong> where you can learn better<\/strong>, and shorter queues at the ski lifts. Furthermore, waiting times at the ski schools, rental shops and ski pass offices are expected to be much shorter as they all encourage customers to book online in order to avoid queues and large assemblies in the first place. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even if the risk of infection cannot be completely excluded, protecting<\/strong> skiers from Covid-19<\/strong> is the number one priority for ski schools<\/strong>. Indeed, an ever-increasing number of precautions can be taken to significantly lower the risk of contracting covid during ski courses. The Austrian government has compiled a list of  7 measures to curb the spread of covid that are to be implemented by ski schools, rental shops and other entities related to winter tourism.<\/p>\n\n\n

1. Facemask: <\/span><\/h3>\n

On the slopes, it is not necessary to wear a mask. However, on the<\/span> ski lifts<\/b>, in <\/span>closed spaces<\/b>, and on <\/span>public transport<\/b>, the use of a facemask is compulsory. Masks are also required at the ski schools\u2019 meeting points <\/span>from the age of 6<\/b> years old if a safe distance to others cannot be respected.<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Regular tests: <\/span><\/h3>\n

All the <\/span>staff of the ski schools<\/b> who are in contact with the public, as well as guest reception <\/span>staff in hotels and other forms of accommodation<\/b> will be <\/span>tested <\/b>up to once a week.<\/span><\/p>\n

3. Small groups:<\/span><\/h3>\n

To <\/span>prevent<\/b> the spread of <\/span>Covid-19, ski schools in Austria<\/b> must offer ski and snowboard courses with a <\/span>maximum of 10 participants<\/b>. <\/span><\/p>\n

Smaller groups can be a great advantage for course participants. In fact, the ski instructor will be able to guide each participant better. Nevertheless, due to the smaller number of available slots<\/strong>, it is possible that the courses may fill up earlier<\/strong>. It is therefore recommended to book in advance. 7. Registration of each ski school guest: <\/span><\/h3>\n

To <\/span>react quickly <\/b>in the event of an <\/span>infection with <\/b>covid-19, the ski schools<\/b> in Austria<\/span> must <\/span>register each guest<\/b>. This will make it possible to easily tracet who has been in contact with someone who tested positive.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n
