Experience the beauty of the Kogelberg Nature Reserve and join us for some fun-filled rafting on Palmiet River. This offer is perfect for anyone looking to make a splash in this pristine mountainous region south-east of Cape Town - no prior experience or special skills needed. Winter rainfall and rising water levels turn this tour into an action-packed white water adventure that's ideal for all those who are seeking a bit of a thrill. Be prepared for one of the highlights of your stay in South Africa!
Tour programme
- Preparation:
To go rafting on Palmiet River, we meet at the Oudebosch Eco Cabins just outside of Kleinmond (approximately 1 hour's drive from Cape Town) at the time specified on your booking confirmation. Here you will be briefed on safety and on what to expect and you will receive your equipment. Once everyone is ready, we will walk down to the river together and start the tour.
- Tour:
We raft in inflatable dinghies that can carry either two or four people. As Palmiet River tumbles through the Kogelberg mountains, it becomes very diverse, thereby offering something for rafting participants, no matter their skill level. All rapids are optional, so you can pick and choose which ones you'd like to try, or which you'd rather skip. In any case, our highly trained guides will ensure you stay safe at all times while rafting on Palmiet River.
- Arrival:
At the end of the tour, we will return to the Oudebosch Eco Cabins where you can hand back your equipment and get changed into some dry clothes.
