PADI Discover Scuba Diving & Excursion to Akamas & Blue Lagoon

Experience your first dive through our Discover Scuba Diving course with an additional day trip to Akamas National Park and the Blue Lagoon. On the first day, you will learn everything about diving, from equipment to hand signals. Our professional instructors will teach you all you need to know to dive safely into the Mediterranean Sea, after which you will do your first dive. Day 2 will be an excursion of 8 hours to one of the most beautiful diving spots in Cyprus: the Akamas National Park and the fabulous Blue Lagoon. These places captivate the hearts of every sea lover with their dreamlike underwater world and the turquoise blue water that invites you to linger.

Dive area
The first dive is at the Roman Wall, our house reef, which is within walking distance of our dive centre. From the beach, we go into the water and discover the marine life of Cyprus. In very good conditions, usually between May and October, even green turtles can be seen. Octopuses, cuttlefish and trumpetfish also call Roman Wall home. On day 2, the island of St. George is our first stop. Around the island, you will find several beautiful diving spots and can often see swarms of glassfish and colourful wrasses. In the warmer months, the green turtle is also at home in this area. Our second spot is the Blue Lagoon, where you have time to enjoy the crystal clear waters. The last spot is the nearby Fontana Amorosa. Here you can observe a beautiful reef in the water, which has grown around old pottery that fell off the boat in high seas.

Programme
- Day 1:
We meet at our dive centre in Paphos (free car parks available). Before we walk into the sea to dive, we go through several briefings. Prior to the start of the program, you will complete the Discover scuba diving eLearning. You will learn everything about equalizing your air spaces, how the scuba diving equipment works and about the underwater world. The eLearning only takes about 20 minutes to complete and will give you an insight into the things you will be doing! To test the diving equipment for the first time, you will practice in the pool of the diving centre. Once you feel confident in your diving gear, we will head out together to Roman Wall, where you will experience your first dive up to 6 metres in the Mediterranean Sea.
- Day 2:
We will meet again at our dive centre, where you will receive your equipment. On site, you will meet your guide, with whom you will travel together for 45 minutes to Latchi to board our boat. We navigate from there to our first stop, the island of St George, also known as Kakoskali. The second stop is the Blue Lagoon, where we stay for about 2 hours. Here you will be treated to local delicacies and refreshing drinks on board. Afterwards we will make our way to our last stop, the Fontana Amorosa, which is only 5 minutes away from the Blue Lagoon. At the end of our excursion, we navigate back to Latchi, from where we return together to the dive centre.

- The eLearning prior to the activity is mandatory if you want to dive
- GoPros & underwater cameras are not allowed during the dive
- Please note that there must be at least 12-24 hours between diving and flying. Diving cannot be done on the same day as a flight or a trip to altitude
