Start a new adventure and discover the wondrous world that lies under the sea by getting the PADI Open Water Diver certification with Excel Scuba in Tenerife. Take part in the world's most popular scuba diving course, thanks to which millions of people have been introduced to the diving lifestyle, and get the opportunity to see the marine wildlife of the Canaries up close.
Goal of the course
At the end of the PADI Open Water Diver course, you will be able to dive independently to a maximum depth of 18m, provided that you are accompanied by an equally qualified buddy. You will know how to use your scuba gear, how to move underwater and how to handle different kinds of situations, should they come up. You are also qualified to get started on the next level of certification courses – i.e. the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course.
Meeting & Preparation
We either meet at our dive shop at 09:00 am or we can even pick you up from your accommodation at 08:45 am. Once you're here, we'll make sure the equipment fits and we'll ask you to fill out some paperwork. You will start your course with the first knowledge development session using the PADI manual. Once you've completed it and passed the test, you're ready for your first pool session. Here, your instructor will give you a quick briefing before you enter the water to start practising your skills.
You can also choose to take the theoretical part of the course online, from the comfort of your own home. That way, you can complete the knowledge development before your arrival in Tenerife, meaning that you can start your practical diving experience right away.
