About CheckYeti

CheckYeti is the leading online platform and mobile app to search, compare and book your winter sports & outdoor activity - including ski lessons, mountain biking, tandem flights or rafting. With more than 2,000 offers by certified instructors, guides and sports schools, CheckYeti enables holidaymakers and mountain enthusiasts to experience sports and activities with their ideal guide.
CheckYeti allows you to easily find and compare offers from local instructors, guides and schools in more than 300 regions across Europe. You can simply book your preferred activity online and enjoy your activity without worries the day you arrive!
CheckYeti is free of charge for all customers.

Finding the right offer

On the CheckYeti homepage simply start typing in the search field, choose your destination from the list and press search. This brings you to a result list with all activities offered by instructors, guides and schools in this destination. There you can easily filter the results according to your requirements and compare all offers. Just click on an offer tile to see more details. If you need additional information about the provider, check out their personal profile pages.
On CheckYeti you find an offers for summer as well as winter activities. You have the possibility to filter according to activity types on the search results page. By clicking on the filter boxes you can select between Skiing , Snowboarding, Freeride and many more during winter season. During summer season you have a choice between several activity groups like climbing and hiking, water and wind, cycling etc.
You have the possibility to filter according to activity category on the search results page. Just select either "Private" (for a private lesson/course/tour), "Group" (for a tour/course in a mixed group), "Event/Camp" (for events/camps/trainings on chosen dates), "Ticket" (for entrance tickets, lift tickets, etc.) or "Rental" (for rental of equipment).
After completing an activity customers can endorse their provider and his offer for different characteristics. Up to three of these traits (e.g. kids friendly, beginner friendly) can be shown on the provider's profile.
If you are looking for a guide or instructor during winter season, simply select "Skiing Kids" in the list of activity filters.
The list of regions featured on CheckYeti is continually growing. If you can’t find the region you are looking for, just drop us a message to support@checkyeti.com and we'll let you know as soon as we are there.
That's probably because the offer of your choice has recently been created on CheckYeti and hasn't received any recommendations yet. Missing recommendations are no indication for the quality of a certain activity or its provider.
The prices indicated in the search results list are always broken down "for 1 hour" or "for 1 day" to make them comparable. When clicking on an offer you will see all activity options and corresponding prices.
Simply click on the "Send a message" button on the offer details page or on the provider profile page.

Booking process

When you have selected your preferred offer, please follow the "Request now" button and fill in all information required. Once the provider receives your booking request he has 24 hours time to accept or decline. If he accepts the booking becomes binding and your credit card will be charged. If he declines your credit card will not be charged and you can send another booking request to an alternative provider.
No, bookings can also be made without a CheckYeti account.
As soon as the provider confirms your request you will receive a booking confirmation and the booking becomes binding. It's always possible for customers to cancel a booking considering the applicable cancellation policy.
Yes, you will have to provide your credit or debit card details to send a booking request. As an alternative to card payments we also offer the payment option SOFORT banking (currently not available for booking offers priced in CHF).
No, CheckYeti is free of charge for all customers.
Yes, you will receive an email with all the details after you have submitted the request.
Please be aware that if you make various bookings at the same time, all are binding as soon as the provider confirms them. Therefore, we would recommend to wait until you have received an answer from the provider.
If you have a question regarding a specific offer and would like to contact the activity provider, please use the "Send a message" button on the offer details page or the provider's profile page.

No, CheckYeti is free for customers at all times and no payment fees are charged.
Please note that your debit or credit card will only be charged once the activity provider confirms your booking request. Before that, the amount is only reserved on your card. If the activity provider does not accept your request, you will not be charged and and the amount reserved will be released.
Yes. Our secure online payment system ensures that your payment information is encrypted. CheckYeti does not save any credit or debit card details on its servers. Payment is handled by a professional payment solutions provider.

After sending a booking request

Activity providers are asked to answer booking requests within 24 hours latest. If you do not receive an answer within this timeframe, please contact CheckYeti immediately. We will get in touch with the provider or, if necessary, help you find an alternative.
Once the activity provider accepts your request, the booking is binding. Your credit or debit card will be charged and you will receive a confirmation email. If you need any more details from the activity provider, you can simply contact him or her via CheckYeti. Just log in using your CheckYeti account and send your provider a quick message.
No. The payment for the activity you booked on CheckYeti is covered and you do not need to make additional payments directly to the provider. There are cases where additional costs are associated with the activity but these need to be explicitly stated in the offer.
Your booking request was probably declined because your selected offer is already fully booked. However, you can change the time period or simply search for the same criteria on CheckYeti again, select a similar offer from a different provider and submit another booking request.
In case the activity provider does not answer your request within 24 hours, please send us a message to support@checkyeti.com. We will contact the provider and, if necessary, help you find an alternative.
Please make sure that you have confirmed the meeting point with the activity provider ahead of your activity. If the provider does not show up at the meeting point on the day of the activity, please try to contact him directly and, if not successful, get in touch with CheckYeti. We will contact the provider and, if necessary, handle the refund and help you find an alternative.
If some of your booking details have changed, please directly contact your activity provider via CheckYeti (just log in with your CheckYeti account and send him a message). He can tell you, if the desired offer is still available taking into account the new circumstances. However, it may be possible that the activity provider re-adjusts the price, especially if you have to be moved to a different offer package.

Offer recommendations

All customers that booked an activity via CheckYeti can leave a recommendation for the respective offer after the activity has taken place.
You will receive an email after your activity has taken place. Please follow the steps described there.
After booking an offer via CheckYeti, you can give a recommendation for the chosen offer on CheckYeti. A recommendation helps other users to find their right offer and helps the provider to promote his profile. Recommendations should only be based on your personal experience and must not include elements outside the scope of the offer you booked, e.g. references to this website, other providers or employees of CheckYeti. Providers and persons related to providers are not allowed to give recommendations. We reserve the right to delete negative or inappropriate recommendations that violate our terms and conditions at our own discretion.
No, once you have sent the recommendation, no changes can be made. If you still want to change it please contact us at support@checkyeti.com.

Booking cancellation

As a customer you can cancel your booking at any time. Simply log in to your CheckYeti account. Depending on when you cancel, different cancellation policies and refund rates apply (please see next question).
Depending on your activity provider's selected cancellation policy, different refund policies apply when you cancel a booking:
- Flexi: Full customer refund up to 24 hours before activity start.
- Standard: Full customer refund up to 31 days before activity start, 80% refund from day 30 up to 8 days before activity start and 50% refund from day 7 up to 1 day before.
- Strict: 90% customer refund up to 31 days before activity start and 50% refund from day 30 up to 8 days before activity start.

For activity providers - About CheckYeti

Anyone who has the legally required qualifications and approvals for providing a specific winter sports or outdoor activity under the respective local laws can offer his activities on CheckYeti.
CheckYeti is a powerful marketing tool for activity providers to enhance their visibility on the internet and optimize their capacity utilization during the season and is already successfully used by numerous schools, instructors and guides across Europe. The signup is for free.
Creating a CheckYeti account and profile is for FREE. CheckYeti operates a commission model, without any fixed fees. You will only be charged a commission if you receive and accept a booking via CheckYeti.
We would highly recommend to promote your CheckYeti profile page on social media platforms (Facebook, Google+, etc.), on your blog and on your website. Every visitor of your profile page is a potential future customer for you and will find it convenient to see your offers and book you directly online.

For activity providers - Managing my profile

It is very easy - with a click on "Provider signup" (at the bottom of the website) you can create your CheckYeti profile within minutes. Fill in four basic fields and you will receive an email with a confirmation link. Follow the link to activate your account. Afterwards you can log in to CheckYeti and easily manage your offers and individual profile page. If you have any problems, please contact us at support@checkyeti.com and we will be more than happy to help you out.
To set up your personal profile page, simply log in to your CheckYeti account by clicking on "Provider login". This will take you to your personal cockpit. There you can see your messages, which information on your profile is still missing and a list of your booking requests. Click through the different tabs in the cockpit to customize your profile page and upload photos.
If you offer your services in several regions you can easily specify this in your profile. Log in to your CheckYeti account and click on the “Destinations" tab. There you will find drop-downs from which you can select either summer destinations/regions or ski resorts or both. Simply add them to your profile. When creating individual offers you can then easily add one or more locations from your selection.
The ranking in the search results is determined by multiple factors including:
1. Completeness of profile and offers (can be influenced by you)
2. Quality of profile, offers and pictures (can be influenced by you)
3. Reaction time and offer declines (can be influenced by you)
4. Recommendation (can be influenced by you)
5. Diversity (for the customer) (cannot be influenced by you)
To improve your ranking you should update your calendar for every offer, respond within 24h and avoid declining a booking request, write good descriptions (in English and German) for your profile and offers, fill out your traits, upload high-quality pictures and ask your customers for recommendations after the activity.
Describe yourself and your offers as detailed as possible to give your potential customers a good view on your experience, who you are as a person/company and how your offers work. Do not forget to motivate your customers to recommend you after completing the activity on CheckYeti.
To appear in the search results, you have to create at least one active offer on your CheckYeti profile. Your profile and offers must be complete before they can be found. This includes price, profile description, profile picture, offer details, offer picture, regions, languages and currency.
In order to ensure a fast handling of payments, it is crucial that you complete the section "Billing details" immediately (incl. ID upload). Otherwise, we cannot transfer payments to your bank account.
If you forgot your password please click on "Provider login" and then on the "Forgot your password?" button. Enter the email address you use for CheckYeti and you will receive an email with a link to a page where you can set your new password.
To change the email address you use for CheckYeti, simply send us a message with your name, your new email address and the email address you don't want to use anymore to support@checkyeti.com.
To delete your CheckYeti account, please write us a message to support@checkyeti.com. In case you want to include it, we would of course like to know what brought you to this decision and why you want to leave us.

For activity providers - Managing my offers

You can easily create, view and manage your offers in the "Activities offered" tab when logged in to your CheckYeti account. Here you can e.g. specify the experience level for every offer, the minimum and maximum number of participants, the applicable destination and of course the pricing options. Also, you should add an appealing picture for each offer and carefully describe the activity to your potential customers. Do not forget to update your availabilty for each offer to make it easier for your customers to book you.
If you are fully booked or do not want to offer activities on certain days on CheckYeti, please update the availabilty of all the offers concerned. This is important in order to facilitate a fast booking process and to help you avoid additional work by receiving requests that need to be cancelled. Declining a booking will have a negative impact on your CheckYeti ranking and can be avoided by keeping your calendar updated.
Yes, an updated calendar will have a positive impact on your CheckYeti ranking. It will also help to minimize declines of booking requests and thereby make customers happy.
We are constantly working on expanding the number of destination offered. If your destination is not yet listed, please send us a message to support@checkyeti.com. Please note that currently your small destination might be linked together with a bigger one. In this case you can simply select the bigger destination when creating your offers.

For activity providers - Handling my booking requests

If you receive a booking request, please accept or decline it immediately but latest within 24 hours. You can accept (or decline) a booking request by logging in to your CheckYeti account and navigating to "Bookings". Please do not try to respond directly by email.
Yes, declining booking requests will have a negative impact on your CheckYeti ranking. To avoid this and to not disappoint customers please keep your offer calendars updated (simply log in to your CheckYeti account and update the offer calendars under "Activities offered").
You should respond to requests as soon as possible but latest within 24 hours. After that time CheckYeti reserves the right to cancel the booking request or allocate it to another provider.
After 24 hours CheckYeti reserves the right to cancel the booking request or allocate it to another provider. Not responding will have a negative impact on your CheckYeti ranking.
Please make sure you have communicated all the necessary details to the customer (meeting point, your contact information etc.). After the successful completion of your activity motivate your customers to leave a positive recommendation via CheckYeti. The more recommendations you receive, the more attractive your CheckYeti profile and offers become to new customers.
You receive the booking request email in the same language the customer used when requesting via CheckYeti. That means if a customers uses the website in German, you receive a German booking request.

For activity providers - Payment

Payments are transferred to your bank account. Please make sure you have completed your bank account details in your CheckYeti account. Otherwise we will not be able to transfer money to you.
Depending on your booking volume and location this may vary. We are making transfers several times per month.
Yes, you will receive an invoice via email automatically at the end of the activity.

For activity providers - Cancellation

Providers may only cancel an accepted booking in exceptional cases. If you have to cancel, please contact us at support@checkyeti.com.
If the customer cancels a confirmed booking, our refund policies apply. If you are entitled to a cancellation fee we will make the respective transfer to your bank account and you will be informed via email.
You can select from these three customer cancellation policies for each of your offers:
- Flexible: Full customer refund up to 24 hours before activity start.
- Standard: Full customer refund up to 31 days before activity start, 80% refund from day 30 up to 8 days before activity start and 50% refund from day 7 up to 1 day before.
- Strict: 90% customer refund up to 31 days before activity start and 50% refund from day 30 up to 8 days before activity start.
