Ski Schools in Klínovec

Learn to ski in Klínovec

Klínovec lies at an altitude of 860 to 1244 m, close to the German border. Besides being the largest ski resort in the Ore Mountains (Krušné hory), it is, in fact, the largest interconnected ski resort in the Czech Republic. As such, skiers can also easily branch out and visit the neighbouring ski resort of Boží Dar-Neklid. By car, Klínovec can be reached from Dresden and from Prague within 2 hours, and from Karlovy Vary in about 30 minutes.

Almost half of the slopes in Klínovec are marked blue, which makes them fairly easy and perfect for beginners: First-time skiers will usually practise their first turns and learn how to keep their upper body in the right position on slopes such as Turistická, Pod Zámečkem, Cvičná or Dámská. In addition to kids ski lessons, the ski schools in Klínovec also offer group and private lessons for adults. The certified ski instructors that work at the ski schools in Klínovec are known for their high quality style of teaching, as well as for being more than capable of individually adapting the ski lessons to the needs of each participant. The ski schools’ meeting point is usually located directly in front of the respective ski school’s offices.

Klínovec is known for having excellent facilities for youngsters. Children will learn to ski in a modern Kinderland with 2 magic carpets, a rope tow, a ski carousel and several slalom courses. The ski schools in Klínovec offer private ski lessons for children from the age of 3, while children aged 4 and upwards can already take part in group lessons. The ski schools in Klínovec use the Kinderland Primáček u Huga, where fairy-tale characters arranged as a slalom track allow the little ones to practise their first turns in the snow. Moreover, Klínovec’s own mascot, the friendly Yeti Hugo, regularly visits the children while they are improving their skiing technique in the minis’ area MaxPark, which boasts a magic carpet that even goes through a tunnel.
