Learn to ski in Davos
Davos is Europe's highest town and located in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. From Zurich, it takes only 2h to reach the ski resort by car. In 2007 Davos joined forces with the neighbouring ski resort of Klosters to form the huge ski alliance of “Davos-Klosters”. The ski area is now made up of 6 smaller ski resorts: Jakobshorn, Pischa, Madrisa, Parsenn, Rinerhorn and Schatzalp.
Since most of the slopes on the Jakobshorn and the Schatzalp are quite easy, Davos is the ideal ski resort for beginners and families. As a result, ski lessons for beginners usually take place on these mountains. For most ski schools in Davos the training lifts Bolgen and Bünda at the foot of the Jakobshorn are the general meeting point for their beginners courses. The Bolgen ski lift is located next to the restaurant Bolgen Plaza, only 10min walking distance away from the train station "Davos Platz". For advanced skiers, the predominantly red slopes of Parsenn offer ideal conditions to further improve their skills.
In Davos, children can join ski lessons from the age of 4. The ski resort has several training areas for kids, the most popular ones are located at the foot of the Jakobshorn. In the TOPSI Kids Land and the Snowli-Kinderland near the Bolgen lift kids will find colourful figures, various obstacles and magic carpets helping them to learn the basic skiing techniques. TOPSI the ski-enthusiastic dragon and Snowli the playful snow rabbit guarantee even more fun while exploring the training areas.
