Tour programme
- Departure:
We meet at the Marina of Vila Franca do Campo at the booked time. We brief you about safety on board and your guide gives you an introduction to local sea birds species, as well as their habitat, behaviour and migration. Then we head to the boat together with your guide for the tour and the skipper.
- Tour:
Once on the boat, we will get the location of the birds via VHF Radio from the inland lookout point. In this part of Atlantic Ocean live many birds who are looking for a calm environment to lay eggs as well as migrating birds. From many species living in the area, the most common to see are Cory Shearwater, Roseate Terns, Barolo Shearwater, Yellow-legged Gulls and many more. To watch the sea birds, we will slow down and the guide will tell you about the animals you will see at the time. We are happy to answer all your questions about sea birds of Azores so feel free to ask during the tour. Upon arrival to the marina, we will do a tour around Princess Ring Islet to have a closer look at its volcanic formations.
