If you want to discover the Cyclopean coastline and the beautiful villages along it, then you cannot miss this nature-themed boat trip from Aci Trezza to the Timpa Reserve and Lachea. You will cruise together with a true expert in this area, who will explain in detail everything there is to know about these legendary locations, even mentioned in Homer's Odyssey. You can also stop whenever you like for a swim in the crystal-clear sea of this area, and we will end on a high note with a tasting of local products and wines.
Our experience will begin at the port of Aci Trezza in the early afternoon, from where we will navigate towards the North. We will first encounter the ancient fishing village of Capo Mulini and its lighthouse, set in unique scenery at the foot of Mount Etna. Past this enchanting village, we will enter a unique stretch of coastline, the Gazzena, of volcanic origin, and the Timpa Nature Reserve, with cliffs up to 80 metres high. You will then be speechless in front of the Grotta delle Colombe (Cave of the Doves), and your guide will give you detailed information about the unique landscapes of this area.
We will then turn around and head south to the island of Lachea, the largest island in the Cyclopean archipelago. The stacks in front of Aci Trezza are a real treat for the eye, which, according to the legend, were thrown by the Cyclops tricked by Ulysses. We will then pass the beautiful town of Aci Castello, with its splendid Norman Castle. Our last stop will be Ulysses' Grotto, the last stop before the return trip to Aci Trezza, during which we can still admire the splendid Casa del Principe. Once back at the port, however, we will continue this unique experience with a guided tour on foot of the town of Aci Trezza and conclude the day on a high note with a tasting of wines and typical Sicilian products.
