What to Expect

Explore the lush and enchanting forest of Nordmarka with this full day hike! We meet at the Tiger Statue outside the Oslo Visitor Centre at Jernbanetorget, where we will take a scenic train ride to Frognerseteren station, enjoying the stunning views as the train winds its way through the rolling hills and start of our trail.

We begin hiking as we make our way through the lush green forest to the Skjennungstoppen mountain. This trail offers a perfect balance of challenging terrain and peaceful pathways. Once we reach the summit of Skjennungstoppen, we will be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Keep an eye out for wildlife such as foxes, beavers, moose, deer, eagles, and hares.

Take breaks at two charming traditional cabins, Skjennungenstua and Ullevålseter, where you can enjoy great coffee and fresh pastries like waffles with jam and sour cream or Norwegian brown cheese. Visit the geographic centre of Oslo, nestled right in the middle of the forest. Our hike concludes at the always stunning Sognsvann Lake, where we will take the metro line back to the city and finish our trip at Jernbanetorget.
