Our kids' ski lessons for beginners take place in the family-friendly Schlossberg ski area, just 9 km from Winterberg. The peace and space make this the perfect place for children to get familiar with winter sports on their level, partly because of small classes and optimal supervision.
For the little ones from the age of 7 years old, we offer ski lessons on a flat slope in children’s land where they learn the basic techniques of skiing playfully. With our second new children's land located at the foot of the blue/red slope, we offer the opportunity to challenge the older children or the more advanced children to go step by step a little higher on the slopes.
The Schlossberg ski area is a family park with an area of approximately 2,000 square meters, 2 children's lands, 4 slopes, 4 drag lifts, a snow cannon, a cosy ski hut and a food truck with good food, sun terrace, playground, toboggan run (with sufficient natural snow), ski rental and a free parking space, enough to provide the whole family with all comforts and fun in the snow.
This course is for children without any previous experience or are for beginners with some experience.
We meet directly at the “Schlossberghütte”, 15 minutes before the start of the lesson.
The lunch break takes place from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm, accompanied by a family member.
The booked equipment can be picked up the day before the booked lessons between 3 pm and 5 pm or on the day of the course from 9 am at either of the two rental shops (Schloßberg or Winterberg/Altastenberg). There is no need to inform the ski school which shop. Please arrive about 1 hour before the start of the course to try on the material. You can store rented equipment in our depot or keep it under your own management.
First-timers do not need a ski pass for the first day of the lessons. The instructor will advise you when to buy the ski pass.
Good 👍🏻
Joots was our kids teacher and he was amazing. Kids enjoyed and learned a lot from him
I signed up for this ski class as a beginner and informed them in advance that I speak English. However, I was the only English speaker in the group, and the instructor did not seem comfortable with that. Even asked where I am from which is unrelated. As a complete first-time skier, I was naturally a bit anxious, but instead of being supportive, the instructor made sarcastic and discouraging comments. she questioned once why I joined if I was afraid or if I do sports regularly etc. This made me feel judged rather than helped. Because of this, I decided not to continue with the lesson. On a positive note, the staff member I spoke to afterward was helpful and arranged a refund for one day, which I appreciated. Overall, I was disappointed with the instructor’s attitude. This may not be the same for every instructor but this was my experience.
