River Trekking in Pont de Tusset - Discovery

Immerse yourself in the turquoise waters of the Verdon and discover the famous gorges as you have never seen them before! We have prepared for you a scenic route, perfectly adapted to families with young children or those wishing to enjoy the panorama peacefully. Supervised by a state-certified instructor, you will descend the river in a succession of swims, rapids and jumps, something to delight young and old alike. Let yourself be tempted by this fun activity!

Tour programme
- Preparation:
We welcome you at our base at the Huttopia Gorges du Verdon campsite at the scheduled time. There you will meet your instructor. You can use our changing rooms to change and leave your things, we advise you to leave your valuables in your vehicle. Once your equipment is picked up, we will take our mini-bus to reach the site. A 20-min walk will take us to the beginning of the tour. On site, before you go into the water, a briefing on the activity and safety instructions will be provided.
- Tour:
Unlike canyoning, river trekking does not involve abseiling passages and all obstacles can be avoided. This way, during your descent, you will enjoy swimming in large basins of turquoise water, passing small rapids for the fun side and some jumps for those who are not afraid. The finale will be beautiful, at the Grand Canyon entrance!
- Arrival:
Once the descent is complete, it will take about 10min to get back up and find the mini-bus. Enjoy the view once you get to the top! You will then be taken back to the campsite where you can enjoy its facilities (showers, Wi-Fi, restaurant, swimming pool...) to recover from your emotions, before resuming the course of your day!

Getting there
You can easily reach the meeting point by the national road with your car or with the bus from Marseille and Nice. A free shuttle bus runs in Castellane during the holidays.

Bring along
- Swimwear and towel
- Second pair of shoes (which may get wet, neoprene slippers not recommended)
- Pair of shorts
- Water bottle and a bag for your dry clothes
- Glasses strap (1€ on site if necessary) or contact lenses
