Climbing on frozen waterfalls is one of the most exciting forms of mountaineering.
It is fascinating and multi faceted. The natural structure of the formations are so unusual and varied, like no other natural source, other than ice.
And that's the interesting thing. You always discover something new.
The ice is not the same as the day before or the year before, often the structure of the ice changes within hours.
Due to my years of work in the teaching team of the Austrian mountain guide training association I have a lot of experience and knowledge in the field of ice climbing.
It would be my great pleasure to introduce you to this fascinating sport closer.
The valley offer for everyone some ice-fall. From 5min-2h walk in very remote places.
It is definately worth a try!
We had a great day ice climbing with Gernot! The activities were well planned for our skill level and we had a lot of fun. I would suggest to make sure you have the correct shoes for the climbing. We ended up in our ski boots because our hiking shoes turned out to be not stiff enough.
