The welcome, briefing, and equipment were excellent. The transfer to the gorge in a modern VW van was perfectly organized. The briefing included a practice rappel at the gorge. It's also worth mentioning that the guides tried to remember the name of each participant, which made us feel even more personally looked after. I can't say exactly how long we were in the gorge because I completely lost track of time. It was so much fun! The time was perfect, though, because despite our very good wetsuits, it got a bit chilly towards the end, and we were glad to be back in the sun. We then had a 1.5-hour lunch break before continuing with the rafting. We spent our lunch break next door eating burgers. However, you can also bring your own lunch and eat at the camp. The length of the lunch break was perfect. At 1:30 p.m., the briefing for the rafting continued. In my opinion, the guides did a fantastic job. The organizers also catered for those who wear glasses or require medication. The rafting itself isn't "whitewater rafting," which isn't really the case given the river's layout. Nevertheless, the guides provided plenty of excitement, incorporating several swimming sections and a jump from a rock. During the stops, we encountered other operators and noticed that some of them, for example, didn't have full wetsuits. "Great tour. Chris, our guide, was very friendly.
Since my son is allergic to wasps and we had to bring emergency medication, it was reassuring to know that our guide had just received training on this the day before.
I was there with my two children (12 and 13).
Surprisingly, after the first few practice rappels, the younger one got scared because the rocks were wet and more slippery than in the climbing gym.
Long story short:
He started crying, and Chris took the older kids on the tour alone while we waited at the car.
The older one was absolutely thrilled and talked about it for hours afterward.
Sport und Natur Kössen was incredibly accommodating. Since we only had a few days left, there weren't many free slots, but they offered us both a rafting trip as an alternative.
Now that's what I call good service!"
