So, taking group lessons is a good idea not only because it helps you learn, but also because it helps you if you're unsure, and by going in a group you also make good friends. The style of the lessons varies depending on the level and the instructor. All instructors have a different style, but it's precisely what helps you learn. For me personally, taking group ski lessons was a good thing. At first I was a little hesitant, but as the days went by I got used to it and ultimately learned a lot. The lessons help you learn the right position and how to tackle easier slopes. By following the instructor's lead, you learn more easily. Sometimes it may seem like you're not improving, but in fact you are. After the lessons, I went skiing with my family and it went really well; everything came almost automatically. Many times it's the little things, like boots, if they're not tight enough—that is, if your heel lifts when you try to lift it—that's important to tighten so your foot can control the skis properly, because ultimately, it's your feet that control the skis. In short, I absolutely recommend group lessons to anyone who wants to learn to ski; they'll help you a lot.
