We had a one-day ski course with Rupi right after the Carnival holidays, and it was absolutely perfect! There weren't many people around, which meant we had private lessons almost the entire time, a huge advantage. Our ski instructor, Rupi, was incredibly friendly, funny, and very professional. He chose fantastic exercises tailored to our individual progress, which helped us tremendously. We made great progress in a very short time and were even able to venture onto the black run on our own the next day. Our conclusion: Highly recommended! "Monday: Driving school, Tuesday: black run" – it couldn't be described better!
Unfortunately, people often stopped during class time or at least left too early. That's a real shame.
Very nice and competent ski instructors.
You should wear warm clothing suitable for winter sports. Other accessories such as gloves, a ski mask and sunglasses are strongly recommended.
You must arrive at the first lesson with your equipment (skis and poles or snowboard, and boots). If you do not have your own equipment, make sure to allow enough time to collect it from the rental shop so as not to delay the start of the lesson. Some shops even offer the option of collecting equipment the day before your first day of hire.
Wearing a helmet is compulsory for children in some countries, but it is strongly recommended for everyone, regardless of age.
Unless otherwise stated, you must have your ski pass with you for the first lesson. You can usually buy one at the ski lift office or online. Discounted rates may be available for children or beginners, so check with your ski school to find out which pass is most suitable.
Generally, it is advisable to book lessons as early as possible. This is especially important during school holidays, such as Christmas and February, when lessons can fill up quickly.
Yes, the lessons are suitable for all levels, including absolute beginners. The certified instructors will help you take your first steps on skis.
As a beginner, you will learn how to handle your equipment, glide, and brake. You will also practise how to control your speed and use a ski lift, so that you can ski down blue slopes safely.
As an advanced skier, you will improve your technique on more challenging slopes. The programme includes safe braking on icy patches, maintaining balance on moguls and uneven terrain, and reacting correctly in narrow passages.
To ensure that you make quick progress, the lessons are held in small groups.
The meeting point depends on your level. Beginners meet at Gschwand 1, 15 minutes before the start of the lesson. Intermediate and advanced skiers meet at the ski school office (Gschwend 60) at the mountain station of the GschwendLift I, 15 minutes before the start.
