Canoe-Raft on the Verdon River in Castellane - Classic Tour

A canoe-raft descent on the Verdon river is perfect for those who want to discover the gorges with an original white-water activity, a mixture between rafting and canoeing. With two of you in a boat, you will have to work closely together to cross the rapids of the impetuous river. A qualified instructor will be at your side to give you advice and ensure your safety. Keep your cool and don't be afraid of being splashed. More than 10 km of thrills await you with up to class-IV rapids at the entrance of the gorge which will require all your skill and concentration. Tour programme
- Preparation:
We meet at the car park of the Castellane swimming pool 30 min before the chosen time. You will recognize us by our blue trailer. You will meet your instructor who will give you your equipment and explain to you how to handle the paddle as well as brief you on the safety instructions. You will be able to leave your belongings in your vehicle and your keys in our car. Once everyone is ready, we will head to the nearby river and you will board your canoe.
- Tour:
The descent begins in Castellane, with a breathtaking view of the town and its ramparts. Then it's off for 2.5 hrs of descent, alternating faster and quieter sections. You will be able to admire the magnificent landscapes of the gorges but also feel the thrills of the white water. You will cross class-III rapids, the famous St Jean bar, the Seuil de Chasteuil, and even class-IV rapids when the current becomes more tumultuous as you approach the gorges.
- Return:
Once the descent is over, our shuttle will take you back to the car park where you will find your vehicle.
