Near Rome there is a place rich in history and natural beauty. Lake Albano in Castel Gandolfo is an enchanting place to go on a kayak tour. Our excursion, which mixes nature, outdoor sports and interesting historical knowledge, is suitable for everyone, adults and children from 6 years. On the calm waters of the lake we will proceed making numerous stops to discover the history of this wonderful place.
Tour programme- Preparation:
To take part in our tour you can decide whether to come directly to our base, or if you prefer a transfer with our free pick-up service. For those who decide to come directly to our base, the meeting time is 30 minutes before the start of the activity, in via Spiaggia del Lago, 17/b, 00073 Castel Gandolfo RM, at Saroli tennis club. If you want to use the transfer, the meeting point is at 9:30 AM at the subway station Anagnina, in front of the old railway car. Once at the center we will give you the equipment to wear and will begin the theoretical lesson about the techniques of paddling.
- Tour:
The tour presents many stops: the first stop will be the Village of the Mill, a village of piles dating back to the XX-XIX / XVII-XVI now submerged and discovered in 1984. The second stop will be the Roman villas where we can admire the villa of Domitian, where the Romans loved to observe the so-called naumachia, a spectacle of naval battles, which is why today the bottom of the lake is full of ruins. Proceeding with the tour we will pass in front of the trampoline of the Popes where in the past the Popes bathed in hot weather of the year. In the warm months, until October 15, there will also be a break of about 20 minutes where you can take a bath.
