Experience a captivating day trip with us to Agios Nikolaos and Spinalonga Island! Your adventure begins in Agios Nikolaos, the charming capital of Lassithi in northeast Crete. This small town is known for its beautiful ports, inviting coffee shops, delightful restaurants, and unique souvenir shops. A must-see is the vibrant open-air market held every Wednesday, offering local crafts and produce. One of the main attractions here is Voulismeni Lake, a former freshwater lake now mysteriously connected to the sea by a channel, adding an air of intrigue to its serene surroundings.

From Agios Nikolaos, the bus will take you westward along a scenic route to Elounda, a picturesque village nestled on the shores of Mirabello Bay. As you travel, enjoy breathtaking views of the bay, renowned for its crystal-clear waters and captivating beauty. Along the way, catch glimpses of the historic Spinalonga Island, a gem near Elounda. This island, originally known as Kalydon, boasts remnants of Roman fortifications and Venetian architecture. It served as a Venetian fortress protecting Mirabello Bay and later housed a Turkish community until the early 20th century, when it became a leper colony until 1957.

Upon arrival in Elounda, you'll have ample free time to explore the village. Stroll through its charming streets, relax at a local café, or simply take in the stunning seaside views. Next, we will take a short cruise towards Spinalonga Island. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to delve into the island’s fascinating history, exploring its ancient fortifications and soaking up the atmosphere of this unique place. After your visit to Spinalonga, we will head towards a swimming spot in the beautiful Mirabello Bay. Enjoy a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters before returning to the port of Elounda.
