Embark on an afternoon full of exploration with our pirate boat trip along the Algarve coast with a visit to the Benagil cave. Departing from the lively port of Portimão, where remnants of the city's industrial heritage can still be seen in its architecture and cultural landmarks, we glide tranquilly along the Arade River. As we cruise past the picturesque village of Ferragudo and its historic Fort of São João do Arade, you will be captivated by the charm of this quaint coastal area. The sight of the Ferragudo Lighthouse marks a transition as we raise the sails and head southeast along Lagoa’s stunning coastline, showcasing the fascinating Algar Seco rock formations.
The journey becomes more intimate as we reach the Alfanzina Lighthouse, where we transfer to specialised cave boats designed to explore the hidden treasures of the coastline. The exploration includes the captivating caves of Carvoeiro, the iconic Benagil Cave, and the celebrated Praia da Marinha. Here, you can opt for an exhilarating dip, with a plank jump for the more adventurous. Each destination offers a unique glimpse into the natural beauty and geological wonders that the Algarve is renowned for.
The 75-foot, two-mast sailing vessel, Santa Bernarda, ensures a comfortable voyage with ample shade on all decks, large seating benches, and clean toilets, offering a family-friendly environment. As we return, keep an eye out for playful dolphins dancing in the waves, creating a memorable end to your afternoon adventure.
