In our ski lessons in Bad Hofgastein, we love helping first timers between the ages of 13 and 17 learn the ropes of this amazing sport. We know they learn fastest when having a great time, which is why we have designed our programme to fit their needs. A playful approach encourages "learning by doing."
"Gasti's Schneeland" makes learning even easier, providing the optimal environment for children. The fun park, slalom and wave track are exciting for those who can already ski a little, whereas ropes and tubes are great learning tools for those just starting. In Gasti's Adventure land, your children can also discover their inner adventurers whilst finding their way through the maze or on top of the snow castle.
From getting to know their equipment, to the famous plough position, all the basics for a bright skiing future are covered in these beginner lessons. After learning how to glide and stop safely, children will try easy mountain slopes for the first time. Along with having fun, safety is one of our main priorities. Aside from the necessary skills, we also teach your children FIS Piste Rules and how to react in case of emergencies. Under the watchful eyes of our instructors especially trained to teach children, your little ones are under the best care possible.
Lunch care
Our ski instructors will be happy to look after your children during the lunch break. A lunch is not included in the price of the lessons and must be booked at our ski school office before the first lesson for € 18 per day. Please note that it is obligatory to book lunch care for all full day kids courses.
Meeting point
We meet 45 minutes before the start at the ski school office in Bad Hofgastein (at the valley station Neue Schlossalm) or 15 minutes before at the "Skizentrum Angertal".

Ski pass
All skiers need a ski pass from the first day of the lessons. You can buy your ski pass at the ski lift ticket office or online before the first lesson.
Our son and daughter, aged 13 and 15, were having their first ski lesson. They had a great instructor. Unfortunately, they were in a group with small children.
Their enjoyment of skiing quickly faded. On the third day, we asked if we could arrange something else. This was immediately addressed, and they were allowed to join a beginners' group of adults. They also had a great instructor there, seemed very experienced, and was incredibly friendly and helpful. Thank you so much for that. Our children came back very happy and had learned more that day than in the first two days. Very nice! Perhaps it would be good to communicate next time that there isn't a teenagers' group and that they would therefore be included with the younger children. Then we could have discussed something else together from the start. But again, it was really great that they were immediately helpful when we raised our 'complaint'.

What should I wear for my lessons?
You should wear warm clothing suitable for winter sports. Other accessories such as gloves, a ski mask and sunglasses are strongly recommended.
When should I collect my equipment?
You must arrive at the first lesson with your equipment (skis and poles or snowboard, and boots). If you do not have your own equipment, make sure to allow enough time to collect it from the rental shop so as not to delay the start of the lesson. Some shops even offer the option of collecting equipment the day before your first day of hire.
Do I need to wear a helmet?
