If you have a little bundle of energy at home that is not afraid of water and is curious to try something new, we have the solution: surfing lessons for children on the beautiful Hendaye beach. The beach is not only ideal for beginners, but our certified instructors also know how to meet the needs of little surfers! The teaching will therefore be done playfully. In a group of maximum 6 participants per instructor, your child will learn the basics of surfing through funny games.
Meeting & Preparation
At the scheduled time, we'll meet the kids at our base directly at the beach, right in the centre of Hendaye. Here, the children can change and store their belongings in one of the 50 lockers that are at their disposal. The instructor will give them their wetsuit as well as a short briefing about the lesson. Then, all they'll have to do is grab a nice board, and follow the instructor to the sea!
The advantage of Hendaye beach is that the starting times of our lessons do not depend on the tides. Since the beach is quite large, the instructor will choose a suitable place on the beach. Another little bonus: the little surfers don't have to be able to swim! You can walk up to 20 metres into the waters of Hendaye beach and you will always be able to stand! In addition, the beach offers a safe environment perfectly adapted to children and beginners. The currents are not dangerous and the waves are softer than at any other beach on the Basque Coast.
