At the Ski school office in the building of "Galerie Obersee" (Poststrasse 64 - 66, 7050 Arosa)
During our kids ski lessons in Arosa your children in the age of 7 - 16 years learn the basics of skiing or can improve their already existing skills. This course is designed for Beginners as well as experienced skiers.
In small groups of only 4 to 8 people, we ensure great learning progress because our team can take care of each child individually and help them to reach their winter goals. What we offer is as varied as the wishes of each child. Beginners will get used to the ski equipment and learn the correct position for skiing. At the end of the course, they will be able to do their first turns. Experienced skiers improve their skiing technique and learn more about the correct use of sticks and parallel skiing. They will ski even more challenging slopes together with the other group members. Our trained instructors have years of experience and will support your child the whole time.
The fun, as well as the learning progress of your child, is very important to us, and so our instructors always incorporate playful exercises into the course. Whether it's the first time on skis or not, the safety and the care of the child is our first priority.
Official level classification of the Swiss ski schools:
Swiss Snow Kids Village 1: First Timer. I am standing on skis for the very first time. My course goal: I can move around on skis in easy terrain, walk uphill, glide downhill and stop.
Swiss Snow Kids Village 2: I can stop and make my first turns in easy terrain, but I cannot yet use a T-bar lift (anchor lift). My course goal: I learn how to use the T-bar lift, either on my own or with another child.
Blue Prince/Princess: I can stop, make snowplough (pizza) turns, and I can use the T-bar lift by myself or with a partner. My course goal: I improve my gliding, stopping, and snowplough turning skills, and increase my speed.
Blue King/Queen: I can ski confidently on blue slopes and use all ski lifts. My course goal: I learn traversing, side-slipping, skiing over waves and hollows, easy boxes, and continue practicing snowplough turns.
Blue Star: I can already ski confidently on easy red slopes. My course goal: I ski waves and hollows at higher speed, and practice snowplough swings (the step before parallel turns).
Red Prince/Princess: I can perform snowplough turns on more challenging terrain (blue and red slopes). My course goal: I learn to brake in parallel, perform the “waltz” turn, and do classic parallel turns (French fries).
Red King/Queen: I can do parallel turns (classic, skidded style). My course goal: I learn short turns on easy slopes, basic air (small jumps), and the skating step on flat terrain.
Red Star: I ski confidently, in parallel and at good speed on all red slopes, and I have already skied some easy black slopes. My course goal: I practice parallel turns in a slalom course, parallel switch turns (backwards), skiing on one leg, and short turns on intermediate terrain.
Black: I can do parallel turns on all slopes. My course goal: I master short turns with pole planting in challenging terrain, jumps, and parallel turns on ungroomed slopes.
We meet directly at our office in Galerie Obersee. The office is located in walking distance from the Weisshorn gondola and Tschuggen Ost ski lift., 15 minutes before the start of the lesson.
The lunch break takes place from approx. 12:00 pm to 1:45 pm. Lunchtime supervision including food & drink can be booked on site for an extra charge of 25 CHF/day. Children for whom no lunchtime supervision is booked can be picked up at the meeting point in agreement with the ski instructor.
If you book including equipment, you can pick it up at the shop (Seeblickstrasse 13, 7050 Arosa). We recommend picking up your equipment at least 30 minutes before the start of the lessons.
