Start your boat adventure and discover the untouched landscapes and beauty of the island of Faial, one of the islands of the archipelago of Azores. From one of its capitals, Horta, we get on board of our boat "Betty" to explore the ocean and the youngest volcano of Europe - Capelinhos. As the only company which offers this type of a boat tour, we aim to bring you closer to nature and the history of Faial, to better understand its phenomenal and recognize its undeniable charms. Besides the breathtaking coastline and deep blue ocean, it is often possible to observe the maritime life in its habitats such as dolphins and sea birds. Tour programme
- Departure:
We meet at Marina in Horta, near cafe “Marina bar esplanada” and entry to the pontoon “C” 30 minutes before the booked time. There, our friendly staff welcomes you and briefs you about the general rules on the boat. After everyone is checked in, we are ready to go out to the open ocean. If you travel by car, there is public parking close to the marina.
- Tour:
Our most important stop during the trip is Vulcão dos Capelinhos. This unique volcanic formations can be seen from the ocean and are located on the west coast of Faial. If lucky, you see diverse maritime species living in the Atlantic Ocean such as coastal birds and dolphins. Depending on the weather our route might change but our standard route passes Monte da Guia, Ponta Furada and Morro de Castelo Branco. Whilst on the boat, a local guide tells you the cultural and natural aspects of the highlights of our route.
- Arrival:
After approximately 2-2.5 hours, we go back to Horta.
