Kayak Tour in Milford Sound Fjord

Milford Sound by kayak will be one of your most memorable moments during your stay in New Zealand! A whole day adventure of exploring this extraordinary fjord will take you to the magical land of waterfalls, diverse vegetation, colourful birds and if you are lucky, a perfect rainbow just in front of you.

To ensure the highest comfort, our tour takes place always within small groups of a maximum of 8 participants so you can enjoy this experience to the fullest. We also provide you with the necessary equipment, hot drinks and snacks during the whole tour. Moreover, your local guide will tell you more about the surroundings while discovering Milford Sound by kayak. Tour programme
- Preparation:
You will find us at Deepwater Basin in Milford Sound, where the whole team will be already waiting for you. To be able to start our tour on time, we kindly ask you to arrive 20 minutes before the booked time. Our staff will check you in and get you ready to the tour by handing you the necessary gear (thermals, spray jacket, life vest and spray skirt). Once, you have changed, we will go through the safety rules and explain the paddling techniques, you will be using on the day. Then, we will split into a team with a maximum of 8 participants each. At this moment, you will be ready to start your relaxing tour.
- Tour:
During the tour, you will be discovering the Milford Sound by kayak with the guidance of your local guide. On the way, you will see true gems of nature such as Bowen Falls, unique cliffs hidden on the edge of the rainforest, landscape on Mitre Peak as well as a protected area of Pembroke Glacier Wildnerness Zone. We will also take a lunch break during which you can enjoy your food on the beach inside the fjord with the other participants on the tour.
- Arrival:
After approximately 4 to 5 hours of kayaking, we will paddle back to the meeting point.
