Kayak Tour in Doubtful Sound Fjord

For your convenience, we also provide a transfer from Tu Anau to Manapouri so you can start your tour smoothly. Altogether, it is gonna be a memorable one-day experience and the only thing you need is your smile, whilst we will take care of the transport, necessary gear and knowledgeable guides. Our tours always take place in small groups so you can fully benefit from this unique experience.

Tour programme
- Preparation:
You will find us in Manapouri Visitor Centre, where the whole team will be already waiting for you. To be able to start our tour on time, we kindly ask you to arrive 20 minutes before the booked time. If you wish, we also offer a transfer from Te Anau to Manapouri. Our staff will check you in and give you your boarding pass which you will use for the Real Journeys boat across Lake Manapouri to West arm. After 1-hour and 30 kilometres cruise, there will be a bus which will get you to the kayak base in doubtful Sound. On the way, enjoy 45 minutes of landscapes of Wilmont Pass. There, your kayak guide will get you ready to the tour by handing you the necessary gear. Once, you have changed, we will go through the safety rules and you will get explained the paddling techniques, you will be using on the day. Then, we will split into a team with a maximum of 8 participants each. At this moment, you will be ready to start your relaxing tour.
- Tour:
This tour is all about wildlife and observing nature. There are many highlights of this 3-hour kayak adventure, so let's just name a few of them. While paddling along the shoreline, you will be surrounded by lush rainforest and high cliffs and there's a high probability to spot some penguins, dolphins, seals as well as many birds.

Our way back is the same as the way which we took in the morning.
