Doubtful Sound Cruise

Go on a Doubtful Sound cruise extended by a cruise on Lake Manapouri and a bus drive through the picturesque Wilmot Pass. On the Tasman Explorer, everyone will find a comfortable place to enjoy the views as our vessel has two spacious decks and it 24 metres long.

This experience will let you discover cascading waterfalls, towering mountains and diverse flora and fauna for 2,5 hours. The fjord is also home to bottlenose dolphins, fur seals and penguins so look closely to those amazing animals. During the Doubtful Sound cruise, you are also welcomed to use facilities on the vessel such as a cafe and a bar with local products. We are looking forward to seeing you on board!

You will find us in Manapouri Visitor Centre, where the whole team will be already waiting for you. To be able to start our tour on time, we kindly ask you to arrive 30 minutes before the booked time. Our staff will check you in and give you your boarding pass which you will use for the Real Journeys boat across Lake Manapouri to West arm. After 1-hour and 30 kilometres cruise, there will be a bus which will get you to the kayak base in doubtful Sound. On the way, enjoy 45 minutes of landscapes of Wilmont Pass. Our vessel will wait for you in the fjord where your 2,5 hours cruise will start.
- Tour:
This tour is all about wildlife and observing nature. There are many highlights of the cruise, so let's just name a few of them. Sitting comfortably on our spacious vessel, you will be surrounded by lush rainforest and high cliffs and there's a high probability to spot some penguins, dolphins, seals as well as many birds.

After a 2,5-hours Doubtful Sound cruise, we go back to Manapouri.
