Details

Experience the best diving in the Great Barrier Reef on board of a modern catamaran! The Great Barrier Reef cruise offers you snorkeling and diving in 3 different Outer Great Barrier Reef sites. Learn how to dive with professionals and explore fascinating coral formations and underwater gardens.

Our qualified team of divers will show you 3 different outer reef sites at Flynn, Pellowe, Milln and/or Thetford Reefs. The locations of diving in the Great Barrier Reef might vary as diving is strongly dependent on weather conditions. Thanks to its shallow warm waters ranging from 22-29° Celsius, diving in the Great Barrier Reef is a perfect spot for the first divers.

Programme
- Meeting & Preparation:
Check-in for Discover Scuba Diving in the Great Barrier Reef - From Cairn between 7.30 and 8.00 am at Silverswift Counter inside the Reef Fleet Terminal. We also offer coach transfers from Cairns & Northern Beaches for an extra charge if you are interested. Before reaching the first site, you will receive a certified and introductory dive briefing: learn the fundamentals of scuba diving and equipment, watch a video and complete a quick quiz.
- Diving:
When you are ready, your instructor helps you to put on the equipment and guides you to the fascinating underwater world as deep as 12 metres (40 feet). In a group of maximum 8 divers per guide, you will spend approx. 30 min underwater before returning to the vessel and depart for a second site, where you can dive again. A tropical buffet lunch catered by a 5 star hotel follows while cruising to a third site. There, you can participate in a guided snorkel tour or take a second dive if you haven't already dived at the previous location. Having completed the 2nd dive, you will get a PADI certificate as a memento of your adventurous diving in Queensland. During the Great Barrier Reef boat tour, you will spend 5 hours in total at the reefs, so you have plenty of time to go snorkeling with your family or friends as well.
- Return:
The diving in the Great Barrier Reef is over around 3 pm when the vessel heads back to Cairns Reef Fleet Terminal.
