Discover the crystal clear waters of the Langebaan Lagoon by sea kayaking in West Coast National Park just an hour's drive north of Cape Town. Sea kayaking in West Coast National Park is suitable for all paddlers, no matter their level of experience. Families, in particular, will enjoy this child-friendly activity that allows them to appreciate the beautiful nature of Western Cape's coastline.
Before we go sea kayaking in West Coast National Park, we meet on the main beach in Langebaan at the time specified on your booking confirmation. Here you will be briefed and you will receive your equipment. After that, we will hop into the kayaks and off we go!
We have two routes to choose from:
The first route is from Langebaan to Schaapen Island, around the island, and back to Langebaan. Along the way, you will experience the breathtaking scenery as you paddle through the lagoon and observe the area's unique wildlife. Indeed, you may well spot the protected bird colony, the white bunnies or the seals that live on or around the island.
The second route takes you deeper into the National Park and lasts for approximately 4 hours. After about halfway we stop off for some lunch on a remote beach before making our way back to Langebaan. For this tour, we also have a set of sit-in side rudered sea kayaks with which we are better able to venture out into the open sea.
At the end of the tour, we return back to the beach that we set off from.
