Great Barrier Reef Cruise to Michaelmas Cay with Snorkeling

On the way to the national park and sanctuary to migratory birds - Michaelmas Cay, you can admire the colourful corals in the crystal clear waters. During the Great Barrier Reef Cruise, the sailing catamaran is often accompanied by curious turtles and diverse fish. When approaching the Cay, you will be greeted by screaming birds flying above your heads, so have your cameras ready.

During the Great Barrier Reef Cruise to Michaelmas Cay, our professional team will brief you about the reefs and snorkelling. Further, you will have a chance to learn more about marine life from a marine biologist presentation. At Michaelmas Cay, the fun reef activities will start: you will experience a fish feeding presentation, you can snorkel in the cay’s protected shallow waters, go on an exciting semi-submersible coral viewing tour or observe the spectacular island birdlife. The access on the cay is limited, therefore, we will transfer you to the beach and back via “beach buggy shuttle”.

At noon, we serve a buffet lunch with fresh prawns onboard. Afterwards, you have time till 2.30 pm to enjoy snorkeling, sunbathing, observing birds or playing on a beach before the catamaran sets sail for return.

Departure & Arrival:
The check-in for the Great Barrier Reef Cruise starts at 7.30am at Ocean Spirit’s counter inside the Reef Fleet Terminal. The vessel departs for Michaelmas Cay at 08.00am. We also offer coach transfers from Cairns and Northern Beaches for an extra charge. The catamaran arrives in Cairns around 5.00 pm.
