Take your very first breaths underwater in one of the world's most unique submarine biospheres by scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef. Join us on a boat trip out to Green Island where you will be able to explore the bustling marine wildlife Australia seas are famous for. No prior experience is needed. Our qualified instructor will introduce you to the basics of the sport so you can see for yourself why scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef is on so many people's bucket list.

Dive Area
We dive at Pinnacle Reef, which is part of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park close to Green Island (approximately 26km off the coast of Cairns. The crystal clear and turquoise waters you'll encounter here make for perfect scuba diving conditions in which you can easily explore the colourful reef and its bustling wildlife which come up to just 1m below the surface. As such, it is an easy dive site for beginners.

Programme
Check-in at our Ocean Free + Ocean Freedom desk at the Reef Fleet Terminal from 7:15 am. Boarding starts at 7:30 am for an 08:00 am departure. We will then head out towards Green Island on a 2h boat trip with our 16.5m sailing schooler. Once we've moored at our exclusive location at Pinnacle Reef, you will gear up while your instructor briefs you on how to use your equipment and goes through a few skills tests with you. After that, you'll both hop in the water and start your adventure that is scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef. For a full 30 minutes, your instructor will guide you around the reef without leaving your side. Indeed, there are never more than 2 divers per instructor and you will dive to a depth of approximately 3 to 5m. The boat will stay at pinnacle reef for 4.5h, meaning that there is enough time to either go on a second dive or to spend the rest of your time relaxing on deck, swimming, snorkeling, or even exploring the tropical rainforest and the sandy beaches of Green Island before we head back to Cairns.
