With French diploma of the French federation of scuba diving (FFESSM), the FFESSM Level 1 diving course invites future explorers to obtain the open water diving certificate which is internationally recognized. After a theoretical part, you will be accompanied underwater by your guide and furthen your skills with each dive.
Over a period of 3 days, you will learn the basics of scuba diving while your instructor ensures that you remain safe at all times. The course is open to anyone from 12 years old, and no prior experience is required as long as you are able to swim. It then allows you to participate in exploration dives all over the world that are supervised by a dive guide.
At the same time, you can explore the wonderful marine reserve of Cerbère-Banyuls under the surface of the Mediterranean Sea. It has been recognized as the "world refuge for the sea" since 2019, thanks to its efforts to preserve its natural heritage.
The Level1 FFESSM qualifies you to:- Dive in France up to a maximum depth of 20 m
- Dive with a diving instructor at your side
ProgrammeWe will meet you directly at
our beach club in Cerbère. You will be given the rental equipment and you will meet your instructor who will talk you through you the course. Then, you will only have a few meters to go to the water.
Course contentThe complete training includes 6 dives as well as theoretical courses for up to 8 people, spread out over a 3-day period. You will begin the course by learning how to use the diving equipment and how to communicate underwater. At your own pace, you will learn how to get into the water, move around and then come back and maintain yourself on the surface, using several different techniques. We will also teach you how to stabilize yourself at any depth.
