With this 19-km canoe descent on the Vézère river, you start upstream of Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère, a small picturesque medieval village elected Most Beautiful Village of France. Along the wildest river of the Dordogne, you will discover the famous troglodytic habitats dating back to prehistory and the castles that have forged its history. With family or friends, embark for a half-day rich in discovery in a preserved natural setting and let yourself be tempted by a swimming or picnic break on one of the islets!

We meet you at our base. A large shaded car park awaits you there. Our team will welcome you, give you the equipment before boarding the shuttle that will take you to the departure point. No worries for beginners, a briefing on paddle handling and the route is done before departure.

Comfortably seated in your canoe with backrest, the descent can begin. You will paddle for about 4 hours with a departure upstream from Saint-Léon-sur-Vézère, an old river port and picturesque village of the Périgord Noir. Then, along the meanders of the Vézère, you will discover the troglodytic sites of La Roque Saint-Christophe and La Madeleine, the strange Maison Forte de Reignac built directly in the rock, the castle of Marzac or the impressive cliffs of the 7 brothers. You can also stop along the river for a break in the shade or a swim.
Return
You have no time limit for the descent. At the end of the descent, you will arrive at our base where you will find your vehicle. You can also enjoy our waterside snack bar or our brasserie on site.

Efficient process to make the reservation online.
Professional setup with shaded parking so car wasn’t too hot at the end of the balade.
Also, there was a cute little bar onsite with a really friendly server which also served snacks.
We were 2 + our dog, we did the 19km trip in a canoe which took us 6 hours because we kept stopping as it was so pretty. There were a few rapids but they were very gentle, so nothing to be nervous about. Great day out, but if I did it again, I’d probably choose the 13km as 19km was a bit too long in the sunshine.
