What to Expect

Join us on an exhilarating hiking and kayak experience in the Peneda-Gerês National Park with a traditional lunch included. The journey begins with a 4x4 pick-up at the pre-selected meeting point, joining a small group of like-minded adventurers. As you make your way to the stunning Caniçada Lake in the heart of the National Park, enjoy the camaraderie and anticipation of the day ahead. Once you arrive, your guide will provide a brief introduction to kayaking before you set off on a beginner-friendly kayak experience, paddling through the serene waters backed by magnificent landscapes. With approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes on the water, there is ample time to soak in the views and enjoy a leisurely pace.

During your time on Caniçada Lake, you will make a delightful pit stop on a small sandy beach. Here, you can relax, take a refreshing swim, or try your hand at stand-up paddleboarding—all included in the experience. After this refreshing break, you will head to a local restaurant to savour a traditional Portuguese meal, complete with fair, delicious food and a taste of vinho verde.

With energy levels restored, the adventure continues with a short walk to a magical waterfall, a highlight of the National Park. This is a perfect spot to swim and revel in the beauty of the natural surroundings. The activity concludes with a return to the preselected meeting points, leaving you with memories of a day well spent in the heart of nature.

• Route: The paths are downhill and uphill, terrain can be slippery and you might need to scramble over some rocks. The itinerary can be altered to make the most of what the National Park has to offer.
