Our boat trip to the Blue Lagoon and Santa Maria Bay was simply unforgettable! The water is crystal-clear, turquoise, and perfect for swimming and snorkeling. The crew was super friendly and knowledgeable, and made the trip very relaxing. It was especially great that we were able to discover small, hidden coves that aren't visible from land. The atmosphere on board was relaxed and easygoing, ideal for families, couples, or friends. Highly recommended – a highlight of Malta/Gozo that you absolutely shouldn't miss!
We had a really great time with this trip. It was a very nie experience.
The cruise was fantastic! The boat is small enough to accommodate about 50 to 60 people, spread across two decks. It has restrooms, as well as a catering service prepared on board, as well as drinks (payable on board). After departure, we sailed along the coast to the island of Gozo, making short photo stops at various caves along the way. These stops were made as close as possible to the cliffs, thanks to the captain's talent. Once we arrived in Gozo, you had several options. You could (depending on your reservation) disembark on the island for 3 hours and get a seat on a tour bus (additional charge), or you could walk around, relax, or swim directly near the port. Alternatively, you could (depending on your reservation) stay on the boat and cruise to Santa Maria Bay for 2.5 hours. During this time, you can walk to the sandy beach (a 2-minute walk) or stay on board the boat to eat, sunbathe, or swim near the boat thanks to a staircase leading down the hull. The food service is not at all excessive, with sufficient quantities and good quality. After this first stop, you will resume sailing, continuing along the coast and admiring new caves until you reach the Blue Lagoon, where we will stop for 1.5 hours. Although this place can be very busy, especially in the early afternoon, a dedicated area is reserved for boat passengers, allowing for a more relaxed swim. Thanks to the crystal-clear waters of this lagoon and the onboard rental of masks and snorkels (charged at 10 euros but with a 5 euro deposit that will be returned upon return of the equipment), as well as fries for children or those not comfortable in the water, you will be able to admire many passions (fed bread by the captain). A few drawbacks: The music is slightly too loud, although largely bearable. The restroom door didn't lock. The boat is non-smoking, but this rule is not respected. Parking to access the boarding area is very difficult, but parking is available about 5 minutes away for 5 euros per day. I also recommend arriving 1 hour in advance rather than 30 minutes because you can board as soon as the boat is docked (around 8:00 a.m. for the 9:30 a.m. departure) and therefore choose your seats.
