If you are on holiday in Hérault, canoeing is the activity for you! This 7 km canoe trip is the most exciting of the gorges: thanks to the various rapids, inclined planes and other amusing passages, our fun tour has many surprises in store for you! In the calmer sections, you will also have the opportunity to admire the wild landscapes of the Hérault river as well as the medieval village of Laroque. In short, you will make good memories with this canoe tour!
Tour programme- Preparation:
The meeting point is directly at our base in Agonès, 15 min before the scheduled time. Then, a shuttle will take you to the starting point where we will provide you with the necessary equipment such as life jackets, a waterproof canister, the canoe and the paddle. Then, a short initiation on the use of your equipment will be given to you.
- Tour:
From your departure in Ganges, enjoy the beautiful green landscapes of the Hérault Gorges. The numerous rapids will make your descent more fun: laughter is guaranteed! During your trip, you'll also discover the mythical fortified medieval village of Laroque, built on a rocky peak, bordering the river. At any time of the tour, take a picnic or swimming break on one of the many beaches of the Hérault river.
- Return:
The end of the descent, you will be back at our base. And that's the wrap up of a wonderful day! On Thursday evening, we organise a dinner by the river (information and reservations directly on site).

- To go canoeing, you must be able to swim at least 25 metres. We recommend wearing a helmet, especially in fast-flowing sections. We provide all the necessary equipment for each canoe or kayak hire.

We truly enjoyed this tour! At first, we had signed up for the 7 km route, but once we arrived, we decided to go all the way to the end — and that was absolutely no problem, which we really appreciated.
We don’t speak French, but they made sure we understood everything along the way, checking in with us regularly.
