If you're spending your holiday in Corfu, and you're eager to try scuba diving, our Discover Scuba Diving programme in Paleokastritsa allows you to do just that, without having to go through extensive theoretical training. This is a great way to explore the bustling marine wildlife off the coast of Corfu and to experience what it feels like to breathe underwater and experience weightlessness, similar to an astronaut. Dive area
Our Discover Scuba Diving Programme takes place at Klimatia Bay or Limni Bay. We get on the boat and we start our trip! This dive sites are a great starting place for beginners as they can gradually go deeper while they get used to their equipment. Here, diving beginners already have the chance to see interesting rocks, octopus, different kinds of breams, comber fish, flounder fish and starfish. For the second Discover Scuba Diving dive, we move on to the shallow reef located in the same bay. It is very colourful with fascinating rock formations and is home to even more species while still providing a safe environment for beginners.
Programme
You will meet us at the dive centre at the time indicated on your booking confirmation, there is free parking available. We will have you fill out the medical statement and set up your gear. We will start the programme with a 20-minute introduction into the basics of scuba diving and into the essentials of using your scuba equipment. Next, you will get kitted up and go into the water to start putting theory into practice. You will do some simple exercises such as clearing your mask or controlling your buoyancy before moving on to your actual first dive in shallow water. No worries! You will be under the supervision of a trained and experience diving instructor at all time, to ensure your safety.

They took safety very seriously which I really appreciated and all the staff were lovely, friendly and professional. Time was taken to talk things through and everyone was well supported during the scuba dive.
We were waiting around for about an hour after the start time in the heat before the safety talk even started. It was a short beginner dive and the focus is clearly on getting some photos of you. If you’re interested in actually seeing sea life then I’d recommend a 1:1 dive at a different location. The pace and number of people meant you had to focus on your equipment and not bumping into people so you couldn’t really pay attention to what was around you. Also it isn’t the healthiest reef, very limited wildlife to see. I actually saw more snorkelling.
Also many people’s flippers came off during the dive.
I did feel very well looked after the whole time though.
