With this 14km canoe-kayak tour on the Argens, you can combine the two sides of the French Riviera: the wild hinterland, with a route through preserved nature, and the beaches of the Mediterranean Sea, for a well-deserved swimming break! If this route does not present any difficulty, it is recommended for people with good stamina, because of the very slow current which will require a good paddle stroke. During the tour, you can enjoy the relaxing setting of the Argens river, a Natura 2000 zone. Then, at the river mouth, the Pacha beach is all yours to picnic and sunbathe. If you are looking for a day that combines sports and relaxation, this kayaking trip will meet your expectations!
Tour programme- Preparation:We meet you at
our base in Roquebrune-sur-Argens at the booked time; there is free parking available on site. Our team will welcome you and provide you with everything you need to enjoy the tour: a map of the route as well as your equipment (a waterproof canister is provided per canoe). Then you will leave directly from our base.
- Tour:You will start by paddling along the river in a quiet atmosphere until you reach the
Iscles dam. It is the best section to see herons, kingfishers, bee-eaters and turtles. You will need to carry the canoe over the dam, which can be a good excuse to take a break in this peaceful haven. You will then cross several meanders in a green setting, until you reach the
Verteil dam, which marks the halfway point. The beach is only 7 km away! Once you have reached the river mouth, you can enjoy the time you have left on the beach and relax after your effort.
- Return:The shuttle will pick you up at the meeting point near the beach
6 hours after your departure (shuttles run between 3pm and 6pm). Once back at the base, our facilities (shower, dry toilets, picnic tables, snack) are available if you wish to extend your stay with us.
