Details
Our kids snowboarding lessons for children between 3 and 8 are ideal for those first days going down the slopes! In the slopes of Astún ski resort, your little ones can have fun together with our instructors. We form groups of 6 students to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for them in the snow.
Our snowboard instructor will guide them through their first days on the board. First, they will learn how to stand on the board and control their balance. Gradually, we encourage them to start to move on the board, descending the flat-terrain slopes. By playing games, giving high-fives and interacting with other children, they will learn in a relaxed and controlled environment.
Meeting Time
On the first day, we meet at our ski school 15 minutes before the start of the lesson.
Ski pass
All participants need a ski pass from the first day of the lessons. You can buy your ski pass at the ski lift ticket office or online before the first lesson.
Good to Know
Please note that if a group is not formed, the lesson will be converted into a 1.5-hour private lesson.
You should wear warm clothing suitable for winter sports. Other accessories such as gloves, a ski mask and sunglasses are strongly recommended.
When should I collect my equipment?
You must arrive at the first lesson with your equipment (skis and poles or snowboard, and boots). If you do not have your own equipment, make sure to allow enough time to collect it from the rental shop so as not to delay the start of the lesson. Some shops even offer the option of collecting equipment the day before your first day of hire.
Do I need to wear a helmet?
Wearing a helmet is compulsory for children in some countries, but it is strongly recommended for everyone, regardless of age.
Where can I buy a ski pass?
Unless otherwise stated, you must have your ski pass with you for the first lesson. You can usually buy one at the ski lift office or online. Discounted rates may be available for children or beginners, so check with your ski school to find out which pass is most suitable.
Do I need to book my lessons in advance?
Generally, it is advisable to book lessons as early as possible. This is especially important during school holidays, such as Christmas and February, when lessons can fill up quickly.
What is the age range for the lessons?
The snowboarding lessons are suitable for children between 3 and 8 years old.
What is the maximum group size?
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, groups have a maximum of 6 children.
What will my child learn during the lessons?
Children first learn how to stand on the snowboard and control their balance. They are then encouraged to start moving on flat-terrain slopes through games in a relaxed and controlled environment.
Where is the meeting point on the first day?
On the first day, the meeting point is at the ski school 15 minutes before the start of the lesson.
What happens if there are not enough participants for a group?
If a group is not formed, the lesson will be converted into a 1.5-hour private lesson.
