Underground Canyoning in Grotta Donini for Experts

The canyoning in Grotta Donini in Sardinia is a unique experience reserved for those who don’t fear the dark and are determined to go the extra mile to explore a hidden watercourse. Surrounded by stalactites and stalagmites, we will abseil from rock walls and waterfalls, dive into the emerald green waters of the river, and find our way out following the feeble light coming through the exit hole.

Tour Programme
- Preparation:
We will meet in Urzulei at 9 am and with our minivan, we will drive around 40 minutes to the canyon. We will put on the equipment and walk for ten minutes until we reach the entrance of Grotta Donini, where a small safety briefing will be given. Please note that this canyoning is not suitable for beginners as previous experience is needed, and groups are limited to 8 people.
- Tour:
After some descents, we will finally encounter the underground river, with its natural pools, waterfalls, and incredible rock formations. We will spend approximately 4 hours in the canyon, with only the light from our headlamp to show us the way. Once we reached the surface again, our canyoning adventure is concluded with a breathtaking abseil of 50 meters. We will then eat our packed lunch that everyone has brought along.
- Return:
To return to our van, we will have to walk uphill for approximately 40 minutes, and then another 40 minutes by car are needed to reach the original meeting point in Urzulei.
