If you want to discover every nook and cranny of Europe's highest active volcano, you cannot miss our excursion to Etna and the Gole dell'Alcantara. We will see various valleys of this volcano and, if you wish, even reach the summit crater area at almost 3000 metres!
We will leave Taormina by private bus and first reach the Gole dell'Alcantara, a canyon formed by black lava walls up to 50 metres high. You have around 1 hour to visit the park for a fee, or simply see these amazing rock formations from above.
We will then continue by bus up to the Etna station at about 1800 metres on the volcano. Regarding lunch, you can bring your own or eat at the Rifugio (extra). You can either stop at 1800 metres or continue to the summit crater area. Those who stay at the station can trek towards the extinct craters at around 2100 metres above sea level or enjoy a walk through the surrounding pinewood. Those who choose to continue higher will travel by powerful all-terrain vehicles accompanied by alpine guides to the authorized summit crater area. Once there, you will have about 2 hours to observe the activity of the craters from a safe zone and admire the lunar landscapes of Etna's slopes. Once everyone is back at the refuge, we will return to Taormina.

Departure & Return
We meet at the bus terminal in Taormina 5 minutes before the departure time. If you come by car, you can find the paid car parks Porta Pasquale and Lumbi at a short distance from the bus terminal. After 10 hours, we will be back in Taormina.
