Details

If you have always wanted to visit an active volcano, then our excursion to Mount Etna is just what you are looking for. Mount Etna is the highest volcano in Europe and dominates the Sicilian landscape at 3,403 metres above sea level. Our adventure takes us to a mountain refuge at 1,800 metres and, for those who wish, all the way to the summit crater area at almost 3,000 metres. We depart from Taormina by private bus with a multilingual guide on board and reach the Etna station at 1,800 metres above sea level. Here, you will have free time to explore the surroundings of the refuge or continue towards the summit craters accompanied by alpine guides. If you stay at the lower altitude, you can hike to the extinct craters at around 2,200 metres or enjoy a walk through the pine forest while admiring the lunar landscapes of Mount Etna. If you decide to continue higher, you will travel by powerful 4x4 off-road vehicles accompanied by alpine guides to the summit crater area. Once there, you will have around 2 hours to explore the area safely and admire one of the most remarkable volcanic landscapes in Europe. For lunch, you can bring your own food or purchase something at the refuge. After everyone has returned, we head back to Taormina.
