Make your holiday in Sicily unforgettable with this river trekking in the Gole dell'Alcantara. We will discover every nook and cranny of these marvellous gorges, carved out of lava stone over millennia. Wearing waterproof dungarees, we will walk into the canyon and admire the prismatic structure of the rocks created by the rapid cooling of lava in contact with water. There will be plenty of adrenaline and fun, with waterfalls, rapids, and small swimming stretches!
Tour programme- Preparation:
We meet at the Agriturismo Valle Alcantara 30 minutes before the start of the activity. Here we will provide you with all the necessary equipment and then head towards the river with our vehicles. Here we will put on our equipment and have a short briefing before entering the water.
- Tour:
We will walk the downstream part of the Alcantara Gorges, going against the current in the bed of the Alcantara River, accompanied by our guides. From the inside, we will admire the extraordinary structure of the gorges, carved by the force of the water, and we will be surrounded by basalt walls up to 30 metres high! There will be no shortage of thrills with small rapids, waterfalls, and little climbing stretches.
- Return:
After about two hours, we will arrive at the entrance to the gorges, from where we will return to our departure point on foot.
