If the idea of exploring the underwater world excites you, it's time to get a certification that will allow you to dive anywhere in the world! With our SSI Open Water Diver Course in the South of Elba Island, you will learn the rules of this sport, and soon you will become confident of your scuba diving skills! Always supervised by our certified instructor, you will dive into the sea in confined and open water up to 18 meters, learning different techniques while observing the seabeds and its inhabitants. No experience is required to take part in this course, and it can also be done by children from 10 years of age.

Programme
- eLearning:
We will provide you with your MySSI account ID, which will allow you to access the digital theory kit. Before starting diving, you will need to read the all chapters of the course. You will be able to study on your device and at your own pace. The content of the courses is made of the basic principles and procedures of diving.
- Kick-off:
We meet at our dive center the day before the course starts. We will provide you with the study material, and you can try out the equipment, to make sure everything fits. We will also agree on the days in which you will take the course, in case you do not wish to dive for 5 consecutive days. The practical part consists of 3 dives in confined water, which we will do in a sheltered area or in the pool in case of bad weather, and 4 dives in open water. The dives are done in small groups (1 instructor for no more than 3 participants) in the afternoon from about 3.30 pm to 6 pm. Our certified instructor will make you do different exercises to familiarize yourself with the equipment, the pressure and language used by divers.

Prerequisites

- Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult during each dive (if the adult does not participate in the course, they can board the boat for free)
- If you wear prescription glasses, you should feel comfortable with contact lenses
- This activity is not suitable for pregnant women
Good to know
- It is forbidden to take the plane in the 24 hours after the dive
- It is possible to bring a person who does not dive on the boat with a supplement of 15€ (to be paid on site, only if the boat is not full).

Do I need any prior diving experience?
No, no experience is required to take part in this course.

Yes, it is possible to bring one person who is not diving on the boat for a €15 supplement, which is to be paid on site. This is only possible if the boat is not full.
