Mountain Bike Tour in Madeira for Beginners - Trail Experience

Our mountain bike tour in Madeira is perfect for beginners as an introduction to this sporty activity. This tour is less physically demanding and less technical, making it suitable for everyone as long as you know how to ride a bike. We can also adapt the trails we take according to your levels. We will provide guidance on improving your skills and building confidence on the slopes, ensuring a more enjoyable experience as we explore the charming landscapes ahead of us such as Camacha, a beautiful and colourful village, a natural water channel and many wooded paths with a bewitching atmosphere.

Tour programme
- Meeting & Preparation:
We meet at our shop in Caniço, at the booked time. If you arrive by car, you will find both free and paid car parks in front of our store. From there, we will travel together in our minibus to the starting point of the tour at Poiso (altitude: 1400 meters). During a safety briefing, you will receive all the necessary information and be accompanied by one of our certified guides throughout the entire activity. We will also provide you with tips and tricks to make your descent easier, ensuring you're ready for the fun!
- Tour:
At the beginning, we have various options available depending on the expertise of the guide, your preferences, and the riders' skills. We can either ride on some easy trails or venture onto more challenging dirt roads until we reach the "levada" (a natural water channel). At this point, we will be at an altitude of approximately 850 meters and enjoy a peaceful 20 km ride, taking in the magnificent landscapes of eucalyptus, laurel, and pine trees. We will make a stop near the colourful village of Camacha at a bar for a refreshing drink and light lunch, before continuing our adventure. The next leg of the journey will offer a smooth 10 km ride with ocean views until we reach our shop at the end of the road.
- Return:
After approximately 4 hours of exhilarating biking, we will return to our shop, feeling a bit tired but with countless unforgettable memories.
