At the Scalo Nuovo Port (Via Marettimo, 91010 Marettimo TP, Italy)
During the tour, we enjoyed breathtaking scenery, from the Dolomite rocks overlooking the sea to the stunningly colored waters and the island's many and varied caves. We swam in one of the caves and took a second dip in a quiet cove. The boat was driven by Walter, who captivated us by telling us the secrets of each cave and offering additional tips for visiting the island. Highly recommended!
This allows you to do a complete tour of the island, seeing the truly superb mountainous part in addition to the caves and three swimming stops; you can choose to stay in the sun or in the shade.
The boat trip itself was beautiful and the route around the caves was amazing. The duration was perfect, and the swimming stops were excellent. However, we originally booked the afternoon tour in English and were asked to switch to the morning tour because there were not enough participants. Before accepting the change, I specifically asked via chat which language the morning tour would be in, as we do not speak Italian. Unfortunately, I never received a reply. When we arrived, we discovered that the entire tour was conducted in Italian. A very kind passenger translated some parts into Spanish for us, and we are very grateful to him, but we still missed most of the explanations and were unable to interact with the rest of the group or fully understand the guide. What disappointed us most was not that the tour was in Italian, but that we asked about the language before accepting the schedule change and never received an answer. If we had known in advance, we could have decided whether the change was suitable for us. The scenery, swimming stops and boat trip were fantastic, but a guided tour loses much of its value when you cannot understand what is being explained.
