Kitesurfing Lessons (from 12 y.) in Lagos

Discover the thrill of kitesurfing during the kitesurfing lessons in Lagos, located in one of the best locations in Portugal. The Ria do Alvor lagoon is just minutes from our office on the way to Alvor and offers ideal wind and water conditions for students. Led by our expert instructors, you will learn the basics of kiteboarding with advanced equipment against the backdrop of the vast lagoon with a maximum of 4 people per group.

From April to August, the lagoon transforms into the ultimate kitesurfing destination in the Algarve. Experience daily afternoon wind gusts of 15 to 25 knots and enjoy optimal conditions for kitesurfers of all levels. With shallow water and plenty of space for practice, the lagoon sets the scene for an unforgettable kitesurfing adventure.

Meeting & Preparation
We will meet at our base in Lagos at the agreed starting time. You will be able to park your car for free upon arrival at our school. Then we will arrange a transfer for you to take you to the beach where the fun begins.

Start time
The start time depends on the tides to ensure the best conditions, so please plan some extra time on the day of your surf lessons. The exact start times are available 1 day in advance. We will inform you in time after you have completed the booking.

Course content
- Beginner lessons: learn the basics of kite control, safety measures, and body dragging skills.
- Intermediate lessons: how to progress from body dragging to actually riding on your board. Get to your upwind independent riding, you will have your first rides.
- Advanced lessons: learning how to jump and doing tricks.
What you will learn as a beginner:
- After 1 day: how to setup the gear; spot, safety and basic theory; fly a kite; bodydraging with the kite in the water.
- After 3 days: upwind body drag; board recovery in deep water; deeper understanding of the kite theory (kite theory lesson); practicing waterstarts.
- After 5 days: successful waterstarts; riding 50 meters in both direction; might be able to ride his/her first meters upwind.
Please note that everyone's learning progress is different as some people learn quicker than others.
You will be in the water for 2-3 hours depending on the weather.
