What should I wear for my lessons?
You should wear warm clothing suitable for winter sports. Other accessories such as gloves, a ski mask and sunglasses are strongly recommended.
When should I collect my equipment?
You must arrive at the first lesson with your equipment (skis and poles or snowboard, and boots). If you do not have your own equipment, make sure to allow enough time to collect it from the rental shop so as not to delay the start of the lesson. Some shops even offer the option of collecting equipment the day before your first day of hire.
Do I need to wear a helmet?
Wearing a helmet is compulsory for children in some countries, but it is strongly recommended for everyone, regardless of age.
Where can I buy a ski pass?
Unless otherwise stated, you must have your ski pass with you for the first lesson. You can usually buy one at the ski lift office or online. Discounted rates may be available for children or beginners, so check with your ski school to find out which pass is most suitable.
Do I need to book my lessons in advance?
Generally, it is advisable to book lessons as early as possible. This is especially important during school holidays, such as Christmas and February, when lessons can fill up quickly.
Where do I meet my instructor?
Please come to the ski school office (Sigmund-Thun-Straße 18, 5710 Kaprun) the evening before or 30 minutes before the course starts to pick up your course ticket and get information about your specific meeting point.
How big are the groups?
You will be divided into small groups to ensure everyone gets the attention they need to make fast progress.
What language will the lessons be in?
The language of instruction is only confirmed after you have completed your booking.
Can I rent equipment for the duration of my lessons?
Ski rentals can only be booked with a minimum rental period of one week.
What will I learn as a beginner?
In these lessons, you will first get used to the ski equipment. The instructors will then show you how to glide, stop, and make your first turns in the plough.
