Discover the History and Nature of the Delta del Ebro and embark on an exciting kayak or paddleboard tour through the beautiful bay of Los Alfaques in search of the historic "Sant Joan" tower. This tower was built by King Philip II in the 15th century to reinforce the defense of these lands against pirates. This tour is suitable for everyone, including families and children from 4 years old. During the journey, you will have the opportunity to observe a wide variety of beautiful birds in their natural habitat. You can see flamingos, herons, coots, cormorants, and birds of prey, among other species. This route is an excellent way to connect with nature and learn about local history while enjoying a fun and healthy activity.
Tour Program -Preparation: We meet at the Les Madalenes observation deck 10 minutes before the booked time. As soon as you arrive, we start with the preparation. We place a lot of emphasis on safety, so before heading out on the water together, you will receive a briefing on how to handle the kayak and paddle, as well as the paddleboard. You will also be informed about sea safety. Our group can include up to 50 participants, with 1 instructor for every 10 participants. Participants will then be grouped into smaller groups depending on whether they chose to do the tour by kayak or paddleboard. You can easily get to know the other participants and receive personalized attention. -Tour: The tour begins at Les Madalenes observation deck, an old dock hidden among the maze-like paths of the rice fields, remnants of a walkway, and some boats. Then, you will navigate towards the beautiful bay of Los Alfaques in search of the "Sant Joan" tower, built by King Philip II to defend these lands against pirates in the 15th century. We will stop there for 15 minutes to enjoy the spectacular view and take photos. Along the way, you can often see a variety of beautiful birds (such as flamingos, herons, coots, cormorants, and birds of prey). -Return: After enjoying the stop at the Sant Joan tower, we will calmly navigate back to the Les Madalenes observation deck, where our tour will end.
